This project focused on designing a concept mobile platform to extend the functionality of Starship delivery robots on Purdue’s campus beyond food delivery. I worked individually on research, concept development, and interface design. Through interviews and on-campus observations, I identified key limitations in how the robots are currently used and perceived. While widely adopted, they are viewed as convenient rather than essential due to restricted functionality and performance issues. Findings showed that limited vendor options, short delivery range, speed and navigation issues, and lack of integration into broader campus systems reduce their overall usefulness. Based on this, I developed a platform concept aimed at expanding Starship into a broader campus logistics system, supporting delivery of food, packages, and essential goods with improved efficiency and reliability.
